Lake Powell

Lake Powell is an amazing destination in the Southwest. If you are searching for a place to lose yourself in boater's heaven, then look no further than Lake Powell. Insiders start their Lake Powell adventure at the Glen Canyon Dam at Page, Arizona. Lake Powell itself is the reservoir of Colorado River water which backs up above the dam into Utah. Lodging and dining are available in the town of Page, but insiders like to stay on the waterfront inside the park at Lake Powell Resort and Marina. During your visit to Lake Powell, you may cross the state line between Arizona and Utah many times.

Although Lake Powell is very popular during the hot summer months, insiders really enjoy it in September after the heat gives way to more comfortable temperatures. The desert can get quite cool overnight, but don't worry - the morning sun will quickly put you in a swimsuit mood.

Lake Powell Resort has excellent modern hotel rooms, a fine restaurant, and quick snacks. Lake Powell Resort is also headquarters for many different tours around the lake. Insiders highly recommend the Antelope Canyon boat tour. Bring your camera!

The Glen Canyon National Recreation Area has several campgrounds for your tent or RV. If you bring your boat to Lake Powell, or rent a houseboat, then you can beach your watercraft anywhere along the hundreds of miles of shoreline and spend the night under the stars.
